"Weather"

For Storytime today we talked about weather.  We talked about what weather is and shared our favorite weather.  We read the books "TAP TAP BOOM BOOM" by Elizabeth Bluemle, "Boo and Baa in Windy Weather" by Olof and Lena Landstrom, and "Boom Boom" by Sarvinder Naberhaus.  We finished up with several games of "Weather BINGO."

After School Program - String Art

We tried a new art technique this week with string.  We made some pretty cool designs and the kids were very patient as they were learning something new.

Unbirthday!

Storytime was lots of fun today as we celebrated our unbirthdays!  After singing and tracing we watched a little "Unbirthday" video clip from Alice in Wonderland.  Then we read the books "Curious George and the Birthday Surprise" by Margret & H.A. Rey and "Snickerdoodle Takes the Cake" by Ethan Long.  We played a game of giant floor memory with a birthday/unbirthday theme and finished up with unbirthday cupcakes!

Smart Spending and Saving

Last week we learned about smart spending and saving.
We read the book "All For a Dime!" by Will Hillenbrand.
We also made some handy "SAVINGS" "SPENDING" and "GIVING" jars
to help us remember how to be smart with our $.
This program was made possible by a grant from US Bank.

Y is for Yummy!

Y is for Yummy!  After singing and tracing we read some pretty cute books.  We read "I Really Like Slop!" by Mo Willems (LOVED this one!) and "Mouse Went Out to Get a Snack" by Lyn Rossiter McFarland.  Then we did a sorting activity of things that are Yummy vs. Yucky.

After School Program - Polar Bear Day!

We've had a lot of snow days in Endicott and this last Wednesday was no exception.  But even though no school was held, we still held our Polar Bear Day at the library.  We started with a snack and a picture search.  Then we did a fun polar bear trivia game.  And would't you know it...our two youngest kiddos won!  They were pretty proud.  :)  We finished up with a polar bear art project and each one turned out pretty great.
