Summer Reading - Teacher Heroes!!!

Can Summer Reading get any better?!?!? We had a great program today celebrating a few of our favorite Teacher Heroes. These teachers are definitely some of the world's BEST! We started by reading the book "When I Grow Up" by Al Yankovic. Then each of our Teacher Heroes took a few minutes to tell us about their journey to becoming a teacher. Some talked about their inspirations, shared their favorite book, and even taught the kiddos a new song about obedience! It was so fun! We ended with an awards assembly and presented the Teacher Heroes with Certificates of Appreciation in recognition of valuable contributions to our children's minds!!! Then each person attending the program today received a juicy apple for a snack, just because I thought it was so appropriate. :) Thank You to our AWESOME Teacher Heroes everywhere!!!

She taught us about Super Foods! And wouldn't you know it.....these Endicott kiddos are SMART and knew the answers to almost all of Tabitha's questions. :) We finished up by creating super heroes out of super foods. Have you ever heard of Super Asparagus and his sidekick Bacon??? Well, now you have!

***Endicott Library Book Club***

Our next Book Club meeting will be:
July 16 @ 7:00 PM
We will be discussing the book:
"The Sky Fisherman" by Craig Lesley
The lives of young Culver, his twice-married mother, and his charismatic uncle Jake have been always overshadowed by the death of Culver's father in a fishing accident. When a suspicious fire destroys the town mill and three murders occur, Culver is engulfed by the dangers he finds lurking in the place he'd come to call home. Love, death, coming of age, and Native American spiritual beliefs flow together with the forces of nature in this novel.

Teen Watercolor Program

A great bunch of kids joined us for our Watercolor program yesterday. We learned some cool techniques using watercolor pencils and everybody was able to make 2 postcards boasting their own artwork. We've got some talent growing in our community for sure! :)

Summer Reading - Local Heroes!

Wonderful first Summer Reading program of the year! Lots of kiddos and parents showed up. :) Teagan helped run a little "knock the fire out" gathering game while all our friends arrived then we read the book "Officer Buckle and Gloria." Then we were lucky to hear from Jason Huntley, Dana Meserve, and Keith Luft who are some of our local volunteer firefighters. We discussed some fire safety and what to do in an emergency. Then Deputy Sheriff Pelissier talked about his job and what it entails. We had a large amount of kiddos and they were really focused and asked lots of questions. Then we went to the fire station and saw the trucks and equipment they use and the kids were able to try on the suit coat and hat that's used when fighting fires. We were also able to see the Sheriff rig and some of his equipment and try on one of his HEAVY vests. The kiddos were able to go home with Junior Deputy stickers and color changing pencils. :)
