Grand Re-Opening

Last night was our Grand Re-Opening of our newly remodeled library. We had a great turn out, great refreshments, great prizes, and great support. We raffled a Stay & Play Package at the Coeur D'Alene Casino and Resort along with some delicious homemade goodies. We also held a silent auction for some items donated by some of our local talents. Thank you to all who have helped support our remodel and our library in general. You are truly appreciated!

Summer! --Story Time

Today was our last Story Time for the school year. We read "Summer" by Maria Rius, "It's Summer!" by Linda Glaser, and "The Boy Who Wouldn't Swim" by Deb Lucke. Then the kiddos made their own little sun visors and fans to help them keep cool during the hot summer days which are right around the corner. I sure am going to miss seeing these cute faces every Friday morning this summer.

Ready for summer!

Is he not the cutest baby!?!?

Book Club

Endicott Library had our very first Book Club meeting last night!
We had 7 in attendance, lots of discussion, and some pretty tasty snacks (if I do say so myself).
We've decided to hold meetings each month @ the Endicott Library.

Our next Book Club meeting will be June 20 @ 7pm.

The book chosen for our June meeting is:

"The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency"
by Alexander McCall Smith.

Mma Precious Ramotswe becomes a private detective, the first woman in Botswana to enter that profession, and opens an agency whose name indicates this unique situation. Motivated to help others and to make Botswana a better place, she encounters many dangerous and risky obstacles in the course of her investigations but succeeds through using her intelligence, courage and instinct. Along with the plot developments, Mma Ramotswe provides observations upon the fine qualities of Botswana and Africa: the culture, traditions, and natural beauties found there, and the inhabitants' pride in their land.

We Love Bugs!!!

Successful Story Time today. The kids were so good and were intrigued by the books. LOVE it when that happens! We read the books "I Love Bugs!" by Philemon Sturges, "Salamander Rock" by Matt Mitter, and "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle. Then we used one of the wonderful Bonnie kits and fed the hungry caterpillar LOTS of food and helped that little caterpillar turn into a beautiful butterfly. The kids LOVED this! Then we made our very own caterpillars. We have the best kiddos and mamas here.....just sayin!

Cute as buttons.....or caterpillars!!!!!

Mother's Day Story Time

Happy, beautiful children at Story Time today. We read the books "T. Rex and the Mother's Day Hug" by Lois G. Grambling and "A Present for Mom" by Vivian French. Then the kiddos made tasty necklaces for thier moms. They did such a good job and worked really hard to try and do it all on their own. I've said it before and I'll say it again......I have the best job in the whole wide world!!!

Spring Has Sprung!!!

What a beautiful day to take a walk to the library! Today at Story Time we read the books "Bear and Bunny Grow Tomatoes" by Bruce Koscielniak, "One Little Seed" by Elaine Greenstein, and "Pooh's Favorite Things About Spring" by Kathleen W. Zoehfeld. Then we traced the kiddo's hands, and "planted" our own little flower pots. They turned out pretty cute. And yes, still very excited to be in our newly remodeled building!!!
Love these big smiles!!!

Hard at work...
